The Gingerbread Pirates
The children were so engaged with the props that I collected to go along with this story. Also, not shown ,I used many pirate hats as well as inflatable swords. For incorporating math, you can add an abundance of gold coins for counting and subitizing.
There Was An Old Monster
This book has a sing - song nature and is very entertaining . I added a monster on the front of the literacy box. I included these props in order to have the children be able to recall them after listening to the story. If you can not find the actual prop, a printed picture will work fine. Another idea is to also add the words that are mentioned in the story .The children can match these objects to the words. You can add pictures of the objects in back of the word cards.
Frog On The Log
These are two great fiction books about frogs. Five Green Speckled Frogs has a sing - song nature and is very entertaining when singing it. You can add an abundance of frogs and tiles with numerals on them as well as the words on the back. I added an old yule log but you can use any small log from the outdoors.
